Reno, Nevada (November 13, 2024) – The American College of Cardiology has awarded Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center with the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence. This designation is awarded based on meeting accreditation criteria and showcasing a demonstrated commitment to comprehensive, high-quality cardiovascular care. Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center has been named a HeartCARE Center for the fifth consecutive year, becoming the only hospital in Nevada to reach such a mark.
Hospitals and health systems that have earned an ACC HeartCARE Center designation have met a set of strenuous criteria, including participating in at least two ACC Accreditation Services programs, National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) registries and targeted quality improvement campaigns.

With this recurring HeartCARE Center designation, Saint Mary’s showcases its commitment to delivering the highest-quality, safest care. Hospitals receiving the HeartCARE Center designation from the ACC have demonstrated their commitment to consistent, exceptional cardiovascular care through comprehensive process improvement, disease and procedure-specific accreditation, professional excellence, and community engagement.

Saint Mary’s also was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report for Exceptional Performance in key service lines, and the American Heart Association also awarded the health system for its commitment to high quality stroke care.
