Saint Mary’s earns four honors, including Gold for Best Hospital

Reno, Nevada (October 1, 2026) – Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, has once again been voted Best Hospital in the Best of Sierra Nevada awards, earning the Gold designation for the second consecutive year.

The back-to-back recognition is one of the region’s strongest measures of community confidence in Saint Mary’s and its caregivers. More than 146,000 community votes determine the Best of Sierra Nevada awards, which recognize businesses, organizations and services across the Reno, Lake Tahoe and Carson City region.

“Being named Best Hospital by the people we serve is one of the most meaningful recognitions a hospital can receive. It tells us that our community sees the quality, safety and compassion our team delivers every day,” said Derrick Glum, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Mary’s Health Network. “Saint Mary’s has earned this recognition two years in a row because our physicians, nurses and caregivers show up every day with one goal: to provide the very best care for the people of northern Nevada.”

The 2026 Best of Sierra Nevada awards also recognized Saint Mary’s and its services in several additional categories, including Gold for Men’s Health, Silver for Primary Care and Bronze for Orthopedic Care.

The community honor adds to a significant national distinction for Saint Mary’s in 2026. Healthgrades named Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center a recipient of its 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award™, marking the hospital’s 10th consecutive year receiving the honor. Saint Mary’s is the only hospital in northern Nevada recognized with the award in 2026 and the only hospital in Nevada to receive the distinction for 10 consecutive years.

Together, these honors reflect recognition from both the community and national healthcare quality organizations for Saint Mary’s commitment to safe, high-quality care. From primary and preventive care to specialized services and hospital-based treatment, Saint Mary’s remains focused on expanding access, advancing quality and meeting the evolving healthcare needs of northern Nevada. For more than a century, Saint Mary’s has been proud to serve the region and remains committed to earning the trust of its patients and families every day.
