Reno, Nevada (January 9, 2025) – Saint Mary’s Health Network, a member of Prime Healthcare, is excited to announce a partnership with Oncology Nevada focused on growth in radiation oncology services. As part of the collaboration, board certified radiation oncologists Guy Jones, MD, and Jason Kehrer, DO, will offer expanded radiation oncology and cancer treatments to Saint Mary’s patients and the northern Nevada community through the Saint Mary’s Center for Cancer located at 645 N. Arlington Avenue, directly across from the main hospital campus. As members of Oncology Nevada, a physician-owned clinic, Drs. Jones and Kehrer will continue their practice while leading the radiation oncology and cancer programs at Saint Mary’s.

“Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center’s partnership with Oncology Nevada is a critically important development for our region as it relates to access to such a vital resource”, said Derrick Glum, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Mary’s Health Network. “We are positioned to grow and expand our radiation oncology department to increase patient access to the leading minds, technologies, and treatment options that the industry has to offer.”

The Saint Mary’s Center for Cancer offers a wide range of cancer and radiation oncology treatments, including biopsy capabilities, diagnostic testing, dietary coaching, infusion services, prevention and screenings, research trials, support services, and advanced radiation oncology technology. Specifically, Saint Mary’s Center for Cancer operates a Varian TrueBeam device, one of the world’s most advanced cancer treatment technologies. TrueBeam is a highly sophisticated linear accelerator that delivers radiation therapy with extraordinary detail and precision to non-invasively treat tumors while sparing normal tissues, often with a painless treatment period of less than two minutes per day and fewer side effects for patients. With Oncology Nevada and Dr. Jones and Dr. Kehrer, a team of radiation oncology experts collaborate to develop a strategy for every patient’s treatment.

“Oncology Nevada and Urology Nevada are proud to partner with Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center and look forward to this collaboration that leverages the expertise of Drs. Jason Kehrer and Guy Jones, both esteemed specialists trained at the National Cancer Institute,” said Stephen Gabelich, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Urology Nevada. “Together, we are committed to delivering innovative, compassionate care to enhance the health and well-being of our patients.”
