Reno, Nevada (July 30, 2026) – Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, has been named to Forbes’ inaugural “Top Hospitals by State” list, joining 13 other Prime Healthcare hospitals. The recognition highlights hospitals that demonstrate excellence in patient care, clinical outcomes, patient experience, and operational performance. The distinction reinforces Saint Mary’s longstanding commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare to the communities it serves.
“The list stands out for its emphasis on clinical outcomes – such as rates of mortality, infection and readmissions – and for the distinct way the methodology adjusts for social drivers of health, like socioeconomics and access to medical care,” said Rachel Rabkin Peachman, editor of Forbes Top Hospitals. “By accounting for these factors, which have been shown to impact health, within the framework of validated healthcare measures, Forbes’ ratings offer a more level comparison of each hospital’s quality, despite differences among hospitals’ locations or patient populations.”
The Forbes Top Hospitals by State list recognizes approximately the top 30% of eligible hospitals in each state and D.C. based on Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 national hospital ratings. Hospitals were evaluated using validated quality measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the list was produced in consultation with nationally recognized measurement experts, data scientists, and health policy researchers. The ratings assess hospitals across categories including patient outcomes, best practices, value, and patient experience, with patient outcomes receiving the greatest weight.
“Being recognized by Forbes is a reflection of the culture we have built at Saint Mary’s Health Network – one that prioritizes excellence, accountability, and compassionate care,” said Derrick Glum, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Mary’s Health Network. “Every member of our team plays a role in creating better outcomes and a better experience for our patients. This honor reinforces our commitment to continually raising the standard of care and investing in the people, technology, and programs that strengthen the health of our community.”
