Dennis T. Yamamoto

Board Member

​Dennis T. Yamamoto, M.D. received his medical degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich. and serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Yamamoto completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He is board-certified in internal medicine as well as in gastroenterology and worked as a faculty member at University of Wisconsin Medical School for six years before moving to Reno in 1990 and joining Digestive Health Associates. He has been active at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, serving as chief of staff from 1996-1998. He currently serves as the community chairman for the Community Health Alliance and is a board member of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

In 2013, Dr. Yamamoto was named among “100 Most Inspiring Leaders” on the Community Affect’s 100Affect awards. This list includes the most influential and inspiring figures in Reno and Tahoe and recognizes people who are leading the community forward and inspiring positive change for the region.
