Jeff Chen, MD
I am a native Nevadan born and raised in Reno. I attended Galena High School, and graduated as Valedictorian in 1996. I completed my undergraduate coursework at the University of Nevada-Reno and graduated as the Senior Scholar with top honors in the College of Arts and Science. I completed my medical education at the University of Nevada School of Medicine where I finished top of my class and graduated as both the Dean’s Scholar and Regent’s Scholar for the state of Nevada in 2005. From there, I completed my internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine-Reno Campus and was named the Intern of the Year. My anesthesiology residency was completed at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. I finished residency in 2009 and was awarded the top graduating anesthesia resident at both the University Hospital and the VA hospital. From there, I had the privilege of returning to Reno and serving the community I grew up in.
I became a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2010. I am a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Nevada State Society of Anesthesiology. I am also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honors Society. The Nevada Business Magazine has named me a “top physician” in the field of anesthesiology in 2012 and 2013.
I am a Clinical Professor with the University of Nevada School of Medicine and serve as the clerkship coordinator for medical students interested in the field of Anesthesiology. I also serve as an executive committee member for the University of Nevada School of Medicine’s Admissions Committee.
