Reno, Nevada (June 26, 2024) – Saint Mary’s Health Network, a member of Prime Healthcare, is thrilled to announce that Chief Executive Officer Derrick Glum has once again been named to the prestigious “Community Hospital CEOs to Know” list produced by Becker’s Hospital Review. This marks Mr. Glum’s second consecutive year receiving this distinguished recognition, a testament to his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to helping advance healthcare in northern Nevada.

Since joining Saint Mary’s in September 2022, Mr. Glum’s leadership has propelled the network to new heights. Under his guidance, Saint Mary’s has expanded community access to critical services including neurosurgery, cardiac ablation, and emergency care, among other areas.

“Being included on this esteemed list for a second year is truly humbling,” said Mr. Glum. “It reflects the dedication and collaborative spirit of the entire Saint Mary’s team. Together, we strive to deliver exceptional, compassionate care to our patients while fostering a positive and engaged work environment. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this remarkable health network.”

The hospital was separately recognized recently by Becker’s as a “100 Great Community Hospital” and was also the only hospital in all of Nevada to be awarded the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for 2024. Last year, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center was named the top hospital in Nevada by Newsweek, and the health network continually earns 5-star accolades year-over-year from Healthgrades.

Leaders like Mr. Glum are highlighted for their dedication to improving community health, shaping workforce culture, planning for the future, expanding hospital services and maintaining financial stability. The full list features individual profiles of all CEOs, and can be read here.
