Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center has been awarded the HeartCARE Center™ National Distinction of Excellence designation from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the only hospital in Nevada to receive the honor.
Facilities that achieve the HeartCARE Center distinction boldly demonstrate their commitment to superior cardiovascular care by participating in multiple quality improvement initiatives. Hospitals can achieve this designation, which is the highest recognition given to a hospital by the ACC, by meeting a set of criteria that can be realized through participation in ACC’s existing suite of quality improvement programs. Criteria include participation in specific accreditation programs and targeted quality improvement campaigns that are designed to help hospitals and institutions close gaps in guideline-based care.
“We are proud of what this distinction signifies,” said Tiffany Coury, CEO of Saint Mary’s Health Network. “Our physicians, nurses, and staff rank among the highest performers in cardiovascular care nationwide and are proud to provide the very best in clinical care to our patients.”
Along with being recognized as a HeartCARE Center, Saint Mary’s is an accredited Chest Pain Center and has earned the Silver Performance Achievement for Chest Pain by the ACC. Additionally, Saint Mary’s is the only hospital in Nevada to receive the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals Award from Fortune and IBM® Watson Health®, as well as being recognized as a 5-Star recipient by Healthgrades for high-performing care in Carotid Surgery, Treatment of Heart Attack, and Heart Failure.
Dr. Richard Bryan, a practicing cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer for Saint Mary’s Health Network, further detailed how Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center has consistently been acknowledged as a top performer in cardiovascular care.
“Our cardiologists are dedicated to their craft, and relentlessly pursue excellence so patients can trust that the level of cardiovascular care they receive at Saint Mary’s is unrivaled,” added Bryan.
