Reno, Nevada (June 3, 2026) – Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, was named to the 100 Great Community Hospitals list by Becker’s Hospital Review. Saint Mary’s represents the only Reno/Sparks-area hospital honored as part of the 2026 edition.
“This recognition reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses, caregivers, and support teams who serve the Reno community every day with skill, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Derrick Glum, MBA, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Mary’s Health Network. “As northern Nevada continues to grow, Saint Mary’s remains focused on delivering high-quality care close to home and meeting the evolving healthcare needs of our region. To be acknowledged by Becker’s alongside many of the nation’s most respected hospitals is an honor, and it reinforces the important work our teams do every day on behalf of the patients and families who trust us with their care.”
According to Becker’s, the community hospitals featured on the complete list are highlighted for their ability to offer accessible, affordable, and high-quality care to patients. Becker’s Healthcare developed the list based on nominations and editorial research, and organizations cannot pay for inclusion.
In total, Saint Mary’s was joined by six other Prime Healthcare hospitals on the list, including:
- Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital (IL)
- Saint Francis Hospital (IL)
- Mary’s Hospital – Kankakee (IL)
- Sherman Oaks Hospital (CA)
- Encino Hospital Medical Center (CA)
- Mary’s General Hospital Center (NJ)
Saint Mary’s recognition as one of Becker’s 100 Great Community Hospitals follows its recent receipt of the prestigious 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades, which made it the only hospital in Nevada to earn the distinction for 10 consecutive years. The Healthgrades accolade places Saint Mary’s in the top 5% nationally for patient safety, with the lowest occurrences of 13 preventable patient safety events.
