Reno, Nevada (February 28, 2022) – In an effort to support growing community need, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center has announced the opening of a new Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU). The new 14-bed ARU will be located within the existing hospital and will be equipped with state-of-the-art private rooms, bathrooms, recreational space, and therapy space that includes an outdoor patio to support patient’s experiences. Saint Mary’s will begin construction processes early in 2022 and plan to welcome their first patient in January 2023.
“Offering an ARU aligns with our efforts to provide high-quality care and access to our patients,” said Tiffany Coury, CEO of Saint Mary’s Health Network. “Saint Mary’s has a long history of offering exceptional care to patients recovering from serious illness or injury, and we are positioned to immediately make a positive impact on patients in further need of such services.”
The expansion features a partnership with Kindred Hospital Rehabilitation Services, an organization that brings a wealth of experience and depth of resources to support the development. The addition of the ARU is the latest to join a line of award winning services that Saint Mary’s provides to the community, and helps bridge a crucial gap in the care journey. With the ARU, patients have access to expanded resources and highly-trained staff at one of the most critical junctures of the healing continuum. Saint Mary’s is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of patients, and is thrilled to bring a much needed service to the Norther Nevada community.
